About the project

Meetomate is an event-centered social platform designed to help people expand their social circles by discovering local events and meeting new friends through shared interests.

To strengthen user engagement, the team is developing a Explore feature to help users discover curated events by category and region. The feature aims to lower barriers to participation and drive more user-generated posts.

Problem

Meetomate relies on user-generated event posts to drive social interactions. However, early feedback showed that many users struggled to decide what events to post about, often feeling limited by the options available or unsure where to start. This hesitation created friction at a critical stage of the engagement funnel and reduced the volume of posts.

Goals

Design

To ensure the Explore feature provides users with a wide range of options, the team decided to offer over 50 curated events.

To keep the interface clean and intuitive despite the large volume of content, I designed the page using a ranking list format, where each album contains a list of 5 events. There are 10 albums in total, each representing a different event category.

This structure allows users to easily browse a variety of event types and quickly jump between categories without feeling overwhelmed.
